Fall Tryouts '07
Hello everyone,
I hope summer treated you well and you are ready for school next week! Here's the really long back to soccer email, but everything is important so please read carefully!
Try outs for the Women's Soccer Club at UCF will take place on the following dates on the IM TURF Fields behind Academic Village:
Sunday, 8/26 4p-6p
Mon. 8/27 4-6p
Tues. 8/28 6p-8p
These times are different from regular practice times due to the fact our first game will be the following week and I must have more time to complete the roster paperwork.
You must attend at least one try out to be considered for the team regardless if you were a former member. Attendance at more than one will increase your odds of making the team.
Practice will be Mondays and Thursdays 4p-6p on the IM Grass fields. There is an optional Sunday practice (Soccer Sundays) that is open to everyone including boys, where we play pick up. You must attend one practice a week. Your availability to attend practice will be taken into consideration when deciding if you receive a roster spot.
This team is COMPETITIVE, your dedication is extremely important. There are 22 roster spots and 2 alternate spots. The 2 alternates may attend practices and intercollegiate games, however will not be able to participate in the Central Florida Soccer League until a roster spot opens due to a 22 player cap.
If for some reason you cannot attend any try outs you MUST contact me by Fri. Aug. 24th. If your classes or work schedule conflict with practice times I would suggest changing your schedule to be considered for the team. If you really cannot change your class schedule I will deal with each case on an individual basis, so please inform me if you have a conflict.
Games for the Central Florida Soccer League will be every Tuesday at 8pm, beginning Sept. 4th. You should be available from 6p-10p that day. If you are not, again you should CHANGE YOUR SCHEDULE. This night is crucial for obvious reasons. If you never got to play in the games I'm sure you would feel your time on the team would be wasted.
In addition, intercollegiate games will be on weekends as follows:
Sept.21-22 at University of Tennessee Chattanooga
Oct. 12-14 at Georgia Southern University
Nov. 9-11 GSU, FSU, UM at UCF (Home)
Nov. 15-17 NIRSA National Tournament, Pensacola, Fl.
The exact dates and times of games are TBD, but you should try to be available on these dates because traveling and playing against other colleges is the best part! You can look at our calendar of events at http://calendar.yahoo.com/ucfwomenssoccerclub .
Thanks and have a good semester!
