Knights vs. Surf, Whiskers and UM

Oct. 17th the Knights took on the number one seated Surf in CFSL. During the first half the Surf went up 1-0, but the Knights came back before the half with a goal from Lindsey Topetcher to make it even 1-1. The second half was hard fought, but the Surf was able to sneak a goal in from a cross towards the end of the second and the Knights lost their second game to the Surf.

The following Saturday, the Women's Soccer Club took on the University of Miami at home. The morning sun put the temperatures into the 90's, but luckily it was parents weekend, and the cheering served as great motivation.

The game started out tough, with Miami sneaking a goal behind the back line during the first few minutes making it 1-0. The Knights were caught off guard but soon gained back their composure to tie things up a few minutes later, and then go ahead 2-1 at the half. Miami fought hard and came back themselves retying the score 2-2 midway through the second half. The Knights however persevered coming back with one more goal to win the match 3-2. We truly appreciated Miami coming to visit us, and hope to schedule a rematch in Miami soon.

This weeks CFSL game was against the Whisker, who earlier in the season had tied. This game would be different however, The Knights were able to secure a goal by Tanya Belt early in the match, and then added another with a lofting shot from Kimmy Westmoreland. The Whiskers would not be shut out and put a score on the board, but it wouldn't be enough, the Knight won 2-1.

Its been an excellent week of soccer and we are looking forward to our next CFSL match against the Suncats next Wednesday, and a trip to Georgia Tech Nov. 10th! Thanks to all the fans and parents that supported us this week.

Another special thanks to all the girls who went to the football game to sell pamphlets in the heat right after playing a whole match. Your efforts are much appreciated!
